The entire nation is celebrating Christmas and New Year on a high note despite several restrictions and the spread of Omicron variant. States like Maharashtra, New Delhi and Karnataka imposed restrictions but the celebration would continue. The Health experts warn that the third wave of coronavirus is here and it would reach the peaks in February 2022. The daily tally is expected to cross 30,000 mark by the end of January. The cases doubled in a single day after 16,764 new cases are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Countries like USA, UK and Spain are badly hit because of the Omicron variant. The next two to four weeks are completely critical and crucial for the Indians. The government urged the people to follow social distancing guidelines and use facemasks.
"It all depends on the physical distancing in public places that decides the intensity of the third wave of coronavirus. Everyone has to protect themselves with masks and the next four weeks are quite crucial for the nation" told an expert. The Omicron variant is highly transmissible and it can be prevented by masking up and taking the booster dose told one more health expert. There are predictions that one percent of the infected would fall sick and the hospitalization would be huge. Some of the experts even submitted a report to the Indian government so that the hospitals would be well prepared to face the third wave. Most of the studies told that the wave would be in peaks in February and March. The symptoms of Omicron variant are similar to flu and the infected would have fever, cold and body pains.
