It wouldn’t be the first time that Donald Trump has accused China of being responsible for the Covid-19 outbreak. In the White House conference held on Monday, President Trump again faulted China saying that they could have controlled the spread of the coronavirus before it spread out globally.
Trump also assured saying that the US administration is conducting a “serious investigation” into what actually happened with the same.
"We're doing very serious investigations ... We are not happy with China. There are a lot of ways you can hold them accountable," Trump said.
Trump believes that the virus could have been stopped at the source before it spread out into the world. This was the latest criticism that Trump threw around on China’s lack of administration and management surrounding the condition of Covid-19.
Just last week, the Secretary of the State, Mike Pompeo stated that United States believes in the fact that Beijing does have a part in failing to report the outbreak as soon as it happened. He believes that they also tried to cover up how dangerous and fatal this respiratory illness is.
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman from China, Hua Chunying said that it is time that Pompeo stopped playing the constant political game and focused on saving lives of people that are infected in the US.
The Covid-19 outbreak has already claimed over 227,000 lives, out of which over 55,000 are in the United States itself.
The White House trade advisor, Peter Navarro also accused and blamed China for sending poor quality and counterfeit covid-19 antibody testing kits to the US for profiteering off of it.
Navarro also added that both the testing kits were the need of the hour for the Americans to ensure rapid testing to get more people back to work after the lockdown.
"That's where, perhaps, we can find people who are immune, that can be in the workplace in a more safe environment. But we can't have China, for example, bringing in those fake tests and counterfeit tests, because that's going to be very disruptive," Navarro further clarified.
He also accused that these testing kits that China has been exporting to US are all of poor quality and showing inaccurate readings. This is a matter of grave concern at the moment as US is heavily reliant on China for the basic health equipments and drugs.
