The confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States are on a rampant rise, with over 48,000 confirmed cases and over 500 deaths already. With the fast spread of this disease, the health officials in the United States have informed and given dire warnings to the individuals to stay at home, following the rising pandemic.
This measure was taken following the horrific result of witnessing 100 deaths in a day which was recorded on March 23, 2020.
Dr. Leana Wen, a visiting professor at George Washington University told to CNN in an interview saying, “It's just going to get worse this week and worse next week. How bad it gets depends on the actions that we each can take today."
Even US Surgeon General Jerome Adams agreed with Wen and stated that things are going to get worse this week. He further urged the people to stay at home for their safety and their communities safety in this need of the hour.
15 other state governors along with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo have imposed the stay at home orders including the ones like Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, Oregon, Washington state and Hawaii. Every one of these orders are going to be effective from Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
In a statement issued by Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, she stated saying, “Across the globe we are seeing a growing sense of urgency, and we must all make some sacrifices to break the chain of infections and avert a worst-case scenario.”
But, conflicting all of these measures that the state and regional officials have been taking, the same is going to be overruled by the President of the country who is believed to get the economy back on track and starting very soon, despite all the risks involved.
