An Indian-American man was shot to death in Atlanta on Saturday evening.

Harikrishna alias Harish Mistry, 48, hailing from Vadodara, Gujarat was shot thrice by an African-American man near his store about 4 p.m.

Mistry settled in Atlanta with his family about 15 years ago and ran a gas-station-cum-store. "Our relatives in the United States informed us about the killing on Sunday morning," said Dilip Mistry, a cousin of the deceased.

Police are yet to make an apprehension in the case.

"We were told that Harikrishna was leaving his store when the attack occurred. Our relatives said the man who shot Harikrishna used to work at his store and was pulled up for misconduct a few days ago," Dilip Mistry added.

Harikrishna Mistry is survived by his spouse Sheetal and two children. His two female siblings were also settled in the U.S.
