The Malabar naval exercise that will commence succeeding week off the coast of Guam in the Philippine Sea will be participated by Naval ships, aircraft and personnel from India, Japan and United States with a focus on greater ability in the strategically crucial Indo-Pacific region.
The mega game of war would take place from June 7 to June 15 in the backcloth of China's thriving expansionist conduct in the Indo-Pacific region.
According to U.S. Navy the exercise will feature both ashore and at the sea training.
"Training will focus on high-end warfighting skill sets, subject matter expert and professional exchanges, combined carrier strike group operations, maritime patrol and reconnaissance operations, surface and anti-submarine warfare, medical operations, damage control, helicopter operations and visit, board, search and seizure operations," it said.
It further said, the US Navy said the Indian, Japanese and US maritime forces look forward to working together to build upon and advance their working relationship. "Each iteration of this exercise helps to increase the level of understanding between our sailors and interoperability between our three navies."
India and Unites States have conducted the annual exercise since 1992 on a regular basis. China being wary about the intention of exercise of Malabar it feels that the annual war game is an endeavor to incorporate its influence in Indo-Pacific region.
Earlier this year, the annual exercise happened in the Bay of Bengal.
