The two Georgian escaped inmates who were accused of killing two officers, have been captured by the police in Tennessee. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee has confirmed that Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe were caught on Thursday evening in the Shelbyville, Tennessee.
The escapees are most wanted in the case of prison bus murders of two corrections officers: Sgt. Chris Monica and Sgt. Curtis Billue.
On Wednesday, Georgia officials have released a photo of Ford F-250 truck, which was stolen by Dubose and Rowe.
Police learned on Thursday evening that the men ditched that truck in Moore County, Tennessee on Thursday, and from there, they have stolen another car and headed to the Bedford County, where the investigators said the men broke into an elderly couple’s home.
Officials from Tennessee said Dubose and Rowe have held a couple hostage for about three hours prior to stealing their car. Tennessee law enforcement said that the couple were able to get break free and also call the investigators.
Deputies said that they have spotted the car in Shelbyville. Both the men have got into a car chase, when the deputies attempted to pull them over along the Interstate 24 westbound.
Deputies also said that the inmates have started fired at them from the car. Investigators said that the men wrecked the vehicle near a mile marker 91 after the chase reached the speeds of 100 mph.
Dubose and Rowe then ran out of the car into a wooded area along the interstate. They approached a nearby home and the homeowner has called police and also his neighbors. The homeowner and also a couple of the neighbors approached the men and held them at gunpoint.
Investigators said that Dubose and Rowe have surrendered peacefully as they were taken into custody. Neither the police nor the men were injured in the incident.
