The Chinese media says, the United States president-elect Donald Trump appears to have not a clue how to lead a superpower.

China’s Global Times newspaper wrote in its editorial, that, “Trump is not behaving as a president who will become master of the White House in a month.” “He bears no sense of how to lead a superpower.”

The article came after the US president-elect used Twitter to berate the leaders of the world’s second largest economy. The social networking site Twitter has been blocked in China since 2009.

“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented (sic) act,” Trump tweeted early after it emerged the Chinese navy had seized a US naval drone which had been operating in the South China Sea.

The newspaper warned, “But if he treats China after assuming office in the same way as in his tweets, China will not exercise restraint.” “The Chinese government should be fully prepared for a hardline Trump.”

Earlier, President Obama cautioned Trump against allowing relations with China slip into “full conflict mode.”
