Amazon begins Prime Now Restaurant Delivery in Atlanta!Top Stories

Online retail giant Amazon has launched its Prime Now Restaurant Delivery service in Atlanta. Subscribers can now order from over 60 local restaurants. Amazon guaranteed free delivery is within an hour.

Gus Lopez, general manager of Amazon Restaurants, said in a statement, that, "Whether you're looking to enjoy great Southern cooking or have a craving for some Mediterranean cuisine, you no longer have to leave your house or office to enjoy some of the city's best local restaurants."

"Starting today, Prime members in Atlanta can enjoy free one-hour delivery with no menu markups through Amazon Restaurants on Prime Now."

The Amazon's restaurant delivery venture enters a competitive market, with companies such as Zifty, Postmates, UberEats and GrubHub. But, it hopes "transparent pricing" will play to its advantage.

Amazon first launched its testing restaurant delivery in Seattle in Ausgust and it also announced expansion to Miami. The service is now available in 12 cities across America, including San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, San Diego, Dallas, Baltimore, and New York.
