After his fortunes took a hit following a fall in demand of steel in China last year, steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal is slowly climbing back to the acme again. The London based Indian tycoon recently surged as the third wealthiest man in British football. He, however, ranks third in football's global rich list.
Lakshmi Mittal owns a $15 billion stake in the Loftus Road club QPR.
Ranked ahead of him are Russian Alisher Usmanov who is worth $20 billion (Arsenal) and the $19 billion worth George Soros who owns a 7.85% stake in Manchester United.
Universally, Usmanov stands as the third richest billionaire to own a football club while Soros comes fourth.
The global football rich list that features world's wealthiest, ultra-rich football club owners ranks Mexican business tycoon Carlos Slim as richest football club owner in the world.
Wealth-X has appraised Slim's fortune at $70 billion, which makes him world's wealthiest man alive.
Close to his heels is Amancio Ortega, the founder of retailer Zara, who owns the Spanish Football League team Deportivo De La Coruna.
