Soon, 100 is your multi-emergency number

Whom do you call in any emergency? What is that phone number which comes into your mind? Do they respond even if you call in emergency?

Usually we dial 100 for police, 101 for fire service, 102 for ambulance and such numbers that strike you.

How it will be if you a single number which suffices all your emergency needs. In that direction, Tamil Nadu government is planning to make 100, the common number for all emergency services.

By this unification of various services under a single number will ease your compelling situation. In United States, 911 is being used as an emergency number.

Government officials are working on this to become feasible for all across the state with the help of technical support from a private company.

State home department is looking at the methods for implementing the system. IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) is an automatic system which is under consideration where in which once the call is connected, the caller will have to dial specific number for specific requirement, like 1 for ambulance and 2 for fire service.

If this comes into vogue, even children can react to the emergency situation.   (msn)
