A demonstration was staged in front of Old Corporation building on Sunday in Tuticorin to withdraw cases filed against anti-Kundankulam Nuclear Power Project protestors.

Rev. Fr. Arimavalavan of Thamizhar Kalam, led the agitation raising slogans demanding the withdrawal of cases filed against the protestors. Members of Coastal People’s Federation, fishermen and women’s organizations participated in the demonstration.

“As some of the protestors are facing sedition charges, they, if the charges are proved, may have to undergo even double life imprisonment. Hence, the State government should withdraw such cases filed against them, who are waging a battle against the KKNPP only in a peaceful manner,” said Rev. Fr. Arimavalavan.(msn)
