The home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy has said that the Central Bureau of Investigation that is probing the Obulapuram illegal mining case will look into the matter pertaining to that case. Addressing the media she has said that CBI will take care about the allegations leveled against her by the accused IAS officer, Sri Lakshmi. She has said that she has already given the required information to the CBI.
Further, she said the court has served notices on six ministers in connection with that case and that the government would give an explanation soon. She has also said that the ministers are looking forward to appointing advocates to make their arguments before the court. Talking about DGP Dinesh Reddy and another IPS official Umesh Kumar, Sabitha has said that the government will be taking necessary action against them as per the court directions. She said, the crime rate would decline automatically when coordination is established between the media and police.
It may be recalled that IAS Sri Lakshmi alleged that there was no truth in the statement given by the then minister for mines and geology, Sabitha Indra Reddy. Sabitha gave a statement to CBI that Sri Lakshmi took special interest in the letter written by OMC requesting the allotment of land to the company.
