Drastic negligence on the part of the hospital authorities led the pregnant lady to desperate bid. A young woman who was denied admission in a government hospital delivered a baby on the road on Monday at Banswada town in Nizamabad district, about 220 km from Hyderabad. The woman was proceeding to a private hospital as the delivery took place. Aggravated by the pathetic plight of the woman, locals lodged a complaint against the hospital authorities.
A probe has been ordered into the incident by the district health authorities. Later the hospital admitted both the mother and child, both are safe. Padma (35), hailing from the Chinna Kodangal village, developed pains in the early hours yesterday. She was taken to the hospital at 3 am in the morning. Within some time she gave birth to a child on the road, after being refused admission, say relatives.
This is the second such on-road delivery that occurred in the last three days span in the state. A similar incident took place in Bhongir town of Nalgonda district April 7. (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
