Panchayat Raj Minister Jana Reddy reiterated his earlier statement that he was fully qualified for becoming the Chief Minister of the state but he never wished to become one.
Reacting to reports of criticism of his Wednesday’s statement that only a miracle could bring victory to the Congress party in 2014 elections, the T congress leader told journalists in Hyderabad today that his remarks were unnecessarily misunderstood.
“I never said the Congress would not win without a miracle. What I said was only a miracle could bring victory to the party in the 2014 elections. It was misrepresentation of facts,” he explained.
When a reporter pointed out both conveyed the same meaning, Jana Reddy said there was no need for him to go into interpretations.
When asked whether he was keeping off the Telangana agitation, the minister denied and said he was very much part of it. “In the back drop of the party position, I am maintaining silence. That’s it,” he observed.
He said he was hopeful of Telangana formation before the 2014 elections. “As I earlier said, I was well qualified for becoming the CM but I never wished it.” (J)
