Thalaivar 170 is in the direction of TJ Gnanavel, the film has been in the news for some time. The film has Amitabh Bachchan on board, which is set to be the reunion of two superstars after a gap of several decades. There was also a buzz that Nani and Manju Warrier were on board, but the latest buzz is that Nani turned down the offer and another talented actor Sharwanand was on board to play the role.

Sources claim that the role in Rajinikanth - Amitabh Bachchan's film is shaded with negativity, so Nani rejected it. Makers also approached Chiyyan Vikram in the very early stages, but he also turned it down. However, the makers has yet to announce Sharwanand and anything can happen till they announce it officially.
