One more hero from the Mega family tested his luck and he is none other than Sai Dharam Tej's brother Vaisshnav Tej. His debut film Uppena generated enough buzz and the film got its release last Friday. Uppena released across the globe on Friday and it collected a record share of Rs 26.73 crores in just its first weekend. This is the highest ever for any small movie or a film that featured a debutant in Tollywood. Uppena surpassed Ram Charan's debut film Chirutha that collected Rs 25 crores in its final run.
Trade analysts predict that the film would end up collecting Rs 50 crores in its final run which would be a record in Telugu cinema. Uppena is made on a budget of Rs 22 crores and is directed by Buchi Babu. Vaisshnav Tej, Krithi Shetty are the lead actors and Vijay Sethupathi is the lead antagonist. Devi Sri Prasad's music is the special attraction for this rustic romantic entertainer. Mythri Movie Makers are the producers. A grand success meet is planned for Uppena on February 17th in Rajahmundry and Ram Charan will grace the event as Special guest for the grand success celebrations.
