Nandamuri Balakrishna is done with the shoot of Akhanda directed by Boyapati Srinu. The film is made on a big-budget and the theatrical, non-theatrical deals are closed for record prices. The makers are keen to release the film for Dasara but the new ticket pricing GO in Andhra Pradesh is worrying the makers. Though the issue was expected to be resolved before the first week of September, the recent developments showed no positive signs. The 100 percent occupancy in AP theatres is yet to be granted. Considering all these, the makers of Akhanda are now in plans to walk out of Dasara race.
For a big-budget film like Akhanda, it would be quite risky to release the film when things are unfavorable. For now, there are less chances for Akhanda to release during the Dasara season. The distributors are not ready to fulfill their commitments during these harsh situations and at low ticketing prices. A new release date will be planned after things calm down. Maha Samudram, Most Eligible Bachelor, Kondapolam and Rowdy Boys are the films announced for Dasara release. Balakrishna and Boyapati will take the final call on the release of Akhanda soon.
