The Vivo X200 Pro is finally here, bringing a long-awaited upgrade to last year's X100 Pro. It features the same 200MP telephoto lens as Vivo's best camera smartphone, the X100 Ultra. Not only does the X200 Pro have the Ultra's best features, it's also priced high and overall looks like a solid package on paper. Of course, the partnership with Zeiss Imaging is now in its fourth year and we can see how Vivo has benefited from it worldwide. In India, Vivo is currently the leading smartphone manufacturer, thanks to the strong numbers the company has achieved with its Y and T series phones. On the other hand, the X series stands at the top of the company's smartphone portfolio and contributes to its strong presence in the premium segment. Unlike other smartphone brands, Vivo is not without premium series and that has served them well in the long run. 94,999 is not available on Vivo. In summary, the X200 Pro is an improved version but with more features. If you're unfamiliar with the modern landscape of premium Android smartphones, you know that there are now phones that weigh more than 200 grams. Almost a decade ago, this device would have been classified as a very heavy device for everyday use. Yes, folks, we are in a time where weight is the new normal. However, smartphone manufacturers have done a good job when it comes to aesthetics. Vivo has done a great job here, especially since the X200 Pro feels better in the hand than the iPhone 16 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
When you first pick up the X200 Pro, it feels heavy (228g in titanium gray). But thanks to the beautiful design, it doesn't take long to get used to it. If you have a medium-sized palm, the X200 Pro is comfortable to use with one hand. However, it takes some time to get used to the size. I like the boxier design of the X200 Pro compared to the more curved look of the X100 Pro. The screen takes up most of the front panel and the punch-hole selfie camera is kept to a minimum. The edges around the display are thin. The side frame has a brushed finish that feels comfortable in the hand, expresses strong lines and gives a metallic look. On the back there is a large round camera housing that is larger than the last one (X100 Pro). A sun pattern ring surrounding the lens frame provides an elegant design language. The material of the back frame is fiberglass, which is gentle on hands and does not get dirty. This year, Vivo introduced a new shade for the X200 Pro - Titanium Gray which looks stunning. For those who love black, there is also the regular Cosmos Black. For additional security, the X200 Pro has IP68 and IP69 protection ratings.
Overall, the Vivo X200 Pro meets all the requirements that a premium smartphone should meet. The design is stylish and the Vivo smartphone stands out from comparable smartphones thanks to the large circular ring with Zeiss branding. I'm looking for a phone. The X200 Pro has the same LTPO screen size as the previous generation X100 Pro. However, the maximum brightness has increased significantly, now to 4500 nits on the X200 Pro compared to 3000 nits on the X100 Pro. In direct sunlight, the screen is brighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max or the Pixel 9 Pro. The X200 Pro's display is perfect for everyday use as it delivers vibrant colors and is bright in various lighting conditions. Characters are presented clearly. This is one of the best Vivo displays for multimedia consumption, be it streaming or gaming.
At the time of launch in India, Vivo claimed that the X200 Pro features tempered glass on the front that is durable and 11 times more drop-resistant than the X100 Pro. Vivo has integrated a quad-curved display in the X200 Pro, which gives the device a premium look. Additionally, the X200 Pro features 2160Hz PWM lighting to reduce flicker and eye strain for comfortable viewing day or night. The X200 Pro also has a number of smart eye protection features to reduce screen fatigue, which is a nice addition. The X200 Pro has some of the biggest improvements over the X100 Pro in the camera department. The telephoto camera is a big step forward for the X200 Pro as it offers almost the same setup as the X100 Ultra, which didn't make it to India. At the launch event in India, Vivo claimed it was the first phone with a 200MP Zeiss APO telephoto camera. It also features a Zeiss T* coating. At least mentally there is a great here (I kid you not). I use a Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor.
Experience lifelike hues and unmatched clarity in every shot on the vivo X200.

Meanwhile, at first glance at the camera's spec sheet, it looks like the main camera has been downsized, especially considering the X100 Pro has a 1-inch sensor. The X200 Pro has a slightly smaller 1/1.28-inch sensor and we'll talk more about its quality below. Finally, the ultrawide is a 50MP sensor with autofocus, while the 32MP selfie camera is carried over from the X100 Pro. The camera's interface is familiar. However, Vivo has done its best to make things easier for its users. A brand new Landscape mode has been added that combines multiple modes including Night, Super Moon, Long Exposure, Astro, Landscape, Panorama and Time Lapse. Vivo bakes in street photography mode for street photography enthusiasts. This mode can be activated by pressing the volume down button twice. This mode is suitable for quick photography. Now let's look directly at the camera quality.
The X200 Pro's main camera takes great photos in sunlight. There are lots of details, precise colors and a decent dynamic range. This situation was fairly consistent in all lighting conditions where the phone's noise level was controlled. Below are some examples from when I tested it. At least in real use you can see that the X200 Pro looks nothing like the X100 Pro. The X200 Pro's biggest strength is its telephoto camera. The quality you get at 3.7x is excellent in all lighting conditions. The telephoto sensor is also suitable and useful for portrait photography. There is great detail throughout and the colors are perfect. Portrait photography records excellent quality. Vivo also has a phase mode, which essentially takes advantage of the 3.7x lens. So next time you go to a concert and own the X200 Pro, you'll know which lens to choose. Portrait mode is comparable to its competitors, offering good depth estimation to highlight the subject and excellent results. Street photography mode has all the features you need in a quick start mode and offers two modes: textured color and classic black and white.
Samples in low light are equally interesting and there is no reason to complain. The level of detail is excellent and the noise level is minimal. Color reproduction is excellent and I think few Android flagships can achieve this quality in very dark environments. You can also take good macro photos. Here are two amazing examples. The amount of detail the X200 Pro can capture is incredible. Only the ultra-wide camera is a bit wobbly. Details and colors are good, but the results are not as good as the main or telephoto cameras. When you zoom in on the results, the X200 Pro can outperform some more expensive phones. Best zoom performance ever. You can see for yourself in the following example. Selfies are good, but I feel like I completely missed out on the X200 Pro RandD. I have the choice between the However, it is great for uploading to social media.
Vivo is superior in gaming with image quality, but when it comes to video, does the X200 Pro perform better overall? Support for 4K 60fps HDR, 4K HDR Cinematic Portrait and 120fps slow motion video. Overall, the X200 Pro's camera is excellent and I don't think there's a better camera setup on a smartphone right now. The Vivo X200 Pro is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 (3 nm) processor. Interestingly, Vivo has stuck with MediaTek for the X series in India for the fifth consecutive year. In addition to Vivo, Oppo has chosen MediaTek Dimensity 9400 for its Find X8 series this year. In everyday use, the X200 Pro handles all tasks such as surfing, scrolling and streaming quickly. However, the phone gets hot while gaming or using graphic-intensive applications.
Benchmarks aside, this phone easily handles everyday tasks like image editing in Canva and Photoshop. The phone worked smoothly with BGMI and had the best graphics settings and frame rates. I didn't experience any lag or stuttering while gaming. The X200 Pro has a powerful touch engine and I really enjoyed gaming and typing on the X200 Pro. It also features a speaker configuration that is powerful enough to fill an average room. The phone comes with Widevine L1, which allows you to enjoy HD streaming on platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The X200 Pro supports connectivity across all 5G bands and we had no issues with Airtel and Jio using 5G networks. It supports USB 3.2 and is ideal for making calls. The built-in dialer app has a voice recording feature that can be enabled for all calls in Settings.
The X200 Pro has a very fast ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. To make it visually appealing, Vivo offers multiple screen animations. It also has a facial unlock feature, which is handy. The X200 Pro runs the Funtouch 15 operating system based on Android 15. Vivo scores points with the fact that the X200 Pro is delivered with at least Android 15. Otherwise, a lot of smartphones have come onto the market recently and devices with Android 14 will soon come onto the market. The phone comes with 4 years of Android OS updates and 5 years of security updates. Also, this is my first time logging in via vivo. Funtouch OS 15 offers a cleaner and more minimalist user interface than previous versions of Funtouch OS. Apps run faster than on the X100 Pro and animations are smoother. There are many customization options including icon style, shape, and size. Users can also customize the lock screen and home screen. Vivo has also shared the brand new Guardian Privacy Protection Matrix. It appears to be the equivalent of Samsung Knox for Vivo phones.
Experience a form that feels as good as it looks - The #vivoX200Series comes in a quad-curved design, combining the beauty of curves and the power of design.

There are also artificial intelligence features such as AI Note Assist, AI Enhanced Signal Boost, AI Screen Translation, AI Transcription Assist, Vivo Live Call Translation and Circle to Search. I tried some of the AI features like AI Note Assist and AI Screen Translation and they worked as expected. However, a higher payment is required. Vivo's official gallery app, the Album app, has several AI features for post-click editing, including AI Photo Enhance and AI Erase. It worked well during the test period. Links to Windows functions also work more smoothly on the Vivo. In addition to Vivo's suite of apps, the X200 Pro has several built-in apps such as Snapchat, Myntra, LinkedIn, Netflix and Facebook. Of course, users can delete these applications if they find them unnecessary.
2025 is the year when 6,000mAh batteries will become the standard for high-end Android smartphones, and Vivo can be considered a pioneer. The X200 Pro features semi-solid battery technology that can ensure optimal battery performance even in extreme weather conditions such as -20 degrees. This phone supports a 90W charger and a 30W wireless charger. In a real-world scenario, the X200 Pro performs better in the battery department. When we tested it in multiple tests, the phone achieved a screen-on time of more than 10 hours. In the HD video loop test, the phone lasted 18 hours and 30 minutes. With heavy use, your phone can easily last more than a day on a single charge as apps like Outlook, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Gmail, X, Instagram, YouTube, Canva, Maps, etc. are always open in the background. Camera to click pictures and one hour of play time. Of course, the output may differ depending on the use case. However, when comparing batteries, we can guarantee that the X200 Pro is better than other flagship models like iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL. This phone charges from 0 to 100 percent in under an hour, which is remarkable for a battery of this size.
The X200 Pro is also a masterpiece from Vivo. With so many features, the X200 Pro is by far the best compared to other competing smartphones in its price range. Of course, the first users to switch to the X200 Pro will be camera enthusiasts, so there's no point in making that assumption. But as a package, the X200 Pro is the best smartphone Vivo has offered in India in a decade. Yes this is good. The more time you spend with the X200 Pro, the more you'll love its design. Performance is well managed. In terms of software, this is Vivo's most classified device to date. With IP68 + IP69 protection, you can sail safely even in harsh conditions. The battery is outstanding and sets a high benchmark for other flagship Android smartphones. The software still has some issues, such as bloatware, but none of the featured apps randomly display ads and there is a Pro mode for people with uneven skin tone. The Achilles heel of the X200 Pro is the selfie camera, not the best, but not the worst either.
If you are looking for an alternative, the Oppo Find X8 Pro is the closest option in terms of specifications and feature list. At the same time, there are other options such as Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro XL, iPhone 16 Pro Max, but you have to spend significantly more money for them.
