Yesterday also India had a great start in Paris with Vinesh Phogat’s win and ended up with a heart-wrenching loss in the Men's Hockey semifinals at the Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh Phogat, the wrestler who refused to meet Modi at the time of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) controversy, was protesting for the resignation of chief Bhushan Sharan Singh. Bhushan was accused of sexual assault on female athletes. The protest was never-ending, they were strangled by police. But now, who were humiliated by the federation, stood up for the nation in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Vinesh Phogat returned to Wrestling in February 2024, by winning the nationals in the 55 kg category. In march she went on to compete in the 50 kg to 53 kg category. She was the winner of the Asian wrestling championship. After months of hard work, Vinesh Phogat is now standing at the edge of creating history. Vinesh Phogat will fight for a gold medal match against Sarah Hildebrandt in the women’s Freestyle 50kg match in the Paris Olympics 2024. On Tuesday, she performed incredibly, starting with the win over Yui Susaki in the round of 16. Her win against Cuba wrestler Yusneylis Guzman Lopez was historic. She will play for Gold today.

In another historic match, Indian hockey lost in the semi-finals against Germany and will play for the Bronze medal.

India Vs Germany: this was a spectacular match for the Indians, India's team performed wonderfully. It was not the pain that India lost a chance of entering the finals, it was the pain that a very well-playing team lost in the semi-finals finals after a very tough fight. India lost against Germany 3-2. India played with one player less, Amit Rohidas was missed at both ends with his defence attack. India will play Spain in the Bronze Medal match on Thursday.
