World's football governing body brought into prominence on Friday that it will commence selling tickets for 2014 World Cup soccer tournament in 12 Brazilian host cities on Aug 20 via its www.fifa.com website. Near about 330 days sooner than the tournament is to open in Sao Paulo, Fifa marketing director Thierry Weil outlined a strategy under which three million tickets will be sold in three phases involving four price categories. During the first phase, tickets will be allocated in succession to a random selection draw period running from Aug 20 to Oct10 at the same time there will be a first come, first served period from Nov 5 to 28. Furthermore, the same procedure will apply in the second phase where tickets will be awarded subsequent to a random draw period from Dec 8, 2013, to Jan 30, 2014, furthered by a first come, first served period from succeeding Feb 26 to next April 1.
