As days pass the luxury format of cricket IPL, seems to be catching up hot on the heels. The next edition due from April 03, big names are on the anvil for the extravaganza.
The IPL format courtesy to the master brain of Lalit Modi, is all set to keep us glued to the idiot box this hot summer. IPL-V is scheduled to be launched on April 05 in Chennai in an extravaganza, as usual. This edition will have the recently recovering Big B, Amitabh Bachchan as the Chief Dignitary. Big B shall host the opening ceremony to be held at YMCA College of Physical Education in the city. Along with him the star studded evening will shine brighter with macho man Salman Khan and sensuous bong Priyanka Chopra. The `Opening Nite’ will also have some cultural performances by renowned artists across the nation. Sources say that the Kolaveri Di might also perform at the event.
"April 3rd is the day for the opening. Preparing for it already. Getting back into the grind," tweeted the Big B, who is just recovering from dual abdominal surgeries, last month. Nine captains of the teams playing the IPL will be present on the occasion taking the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge in a ceremonious way. The opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm, however, the venue gates will be thrown open to the audience from 5:00 pm. The sale of the tickets, pegged at a starting price of Rs 1,500, will be on sale from March 16.
"With four highly successful seasons behind us, we hope to raise the standards of the competition even higher, as we look forward to celebrating DLF IPL 2012 with much fanfare, starting with Opening Nite," IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla said in the statement. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
