Mumbai Indians players Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav could leave the franchise ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League season if reports are to be believed. Rohit's future with the Mumbai Indians has turned out to be a huge topic of discussion after he was replaced as a captain this year. The team also underperformed under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. Hardik returned back to Mumbai Indians after playing for the Gujarat Titans for two years of IPL. According to the report, Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the teams that are eyeing Rohit Sharma. Rohit became the first captain to win five IPL titles while leading MI, which Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was later able to match. Hence, the decision to replace Rohit with Pandya was met with harsh criticism and huge backlash from fans of the franchise.
Pandya was trolled across India, including at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where fans expressed their frustration. While all the reported issues were cleared up last month when the duo returned to the Indian squad for the 2024 World T20, there were reports that neither Rohit nor Pandya were at their best during the season. Rohit hugged Pandya, who batted last in the final against South Africa, scoring 16 runs. The all-rounder was one of the main architects of India's second World T20 win since 2007.
