Chennai Super Kings started IPL 2022 on a disastrous note and are in rock bottom in the points table. After getting defeated in the hands of Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings is out of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Chennai Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals and they went all out for 97 in just 16 overs in Wankhede Stadium. Mahendra Singh Dhoni who took over the captaincy recently was the top scorer and he made 36 out of 33 balls. Daniel Sams took three wickets for 16 runs for the Mumbai Indians and Riley Meredith bagged two wickets for 27 runs and Kumar Karthikeya got two wickets for 22 runs.
Mumbai Indians completed the chase in 14.5 overs. Mumbai Indians lost 5 wickets and Tilak Varma (34 not out) was the top scorer for the side. Mukesh Choudhary took 3 wickets for 23 runs. With this defeat, Chennai Super Kings is out of the IPL 2022. Mumbai Indians registered their third victory of the season. Ravindra Jadeja is out of IPL 2022 and Ravindra Jadeja, Chennai Super Kings unfollowed each other on social media and the news created a sensation. Jadeja was the first retention of Chennai Super Kings in the auctions as per MS Dhoni. Jadeja took up the captaincy but he soon stepped down after back-to-back defeats for Chennai Super Kings.
