After ending up the South African tour on a disastrous note, Team India is hosting West Indies. The first ODI took place yesterday and this happens to be the 1000th ODI for Team India. The match took place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. West Indies was bowled out for 176 in 43.5 overs and the target was quite easy for Team India. Jason Holder (57), Fabian Allen (29) are the top scorers for the side. Yuzvendra Chahal (4/49), Washington Sundar (3/30) and Prasidh Krishna (2/29) took the wickets among the Indian bowlers.
Chasing a target of 178, India completed the chase in just 28 overs. Rohit Sharma (60), Suryakumar Yadav (34 not out) and Ishan Kishan (28) are the top scorers for the side. India is leading the series by 1-0. Alzarri Joseph (2/45), Akeal Hosien (1/46) took the wickets among the West Indies bowlers. Yuzvendra Chahal was named as the player of the match. Team India won the match by 6 wickets. The second ODI with West Indies is scheduled to take place on February 9th (Wednesday) and the third ODI will take place on February 11th (Friday). West Indies has been in top class form from the past few months and this is the first defeat for them in the recent times.
