Delhi and District Cricket Association cancels its plans to felicitate Delhi cricketers Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag ahead of India and Australia match in Delhi.

Earlier, Delhi cricket association planned to felicitate the cricketers but in the wake of Pulwama Terror attack, the proposed plan was dropped.

"We had plans of felicitating Sehwag, Gambhir and Kohli but we decided against it since BCCI is also not having an opening ceremony of the IPL. We have also decided to donate Rs 10 lakh to Delhi Police’s Martyrs Fund. As of now, 90 percent of the tickets that was put on public sale has been sold out,” DDCA President said.

The cricket had followed Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) which decided to cancel the opening ceremony of the 12th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) which is set to start from March 23.

Team India Players had also came up with the special gesture by sporting camouflage-style army caps in the third One day International against Australia in Ranchi.

And last and final ODI against Australia will be played on March 13 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium and it is series decider as visiting team levelled the five match ODI series in fourth match.
