Baburao Yadav who was a Former Ranji player was arrested today as a reason of being in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal even as police said that it is likely to seek further custody of three arrested players as well as some bookies. Yadav, who was known to have been picked up from Delhi yesterday as well questioned about his links with the arrested player Ajit Chandila, has been arrested. Yadav was declared to have introduced Chandila to bookie Sunil Bhatia, who has been already arrested.
Subsequent to his arrest, nearly 18 people who were three IPL players along with four former players as well as 11 bookies and their assistants have been imprisoned since last Thursday in affiliation with the scandal that rocked the cricketing world. The sources also declared that they will seek the custody of three arrested players such as Sreesanth, Chandila and Ankit Chavan along with eight bookies when they will be produced in court as their act of remanding ends today.
That was not just enough as Rajasthan Royals was known to have lodged a complaint yesterday with Delhi police against its three players such Chandila, Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan while blaming them of cheating and other charges. While also another case emerged when two persons, who watched the Rajasthan Royals matches in Chandigarh and Mumbai, had also approached the police with complaints of cheating.
Ravi Sawani, who is the BCCI’s anti-corruption unit chief, has been asked to head the investigation, who had yesterday held a meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar along with other top officials and offered all help. Investigators committed yesterday exposed another hard-hitting fact which proceeded Chandila to his aunt’s house at Palwal in Haryana from where they declared to have recovered Rs 20 lakh from a cricket kit.
That's an absolute disgrace for the cricketing world.
