The saying that evolved from Farhan Akhtar’s PA was prominent yet was not sound perfect - He is running 10 minutes late. It was experienced by Jaydip Sengupta Deputy Editor-Sports, XPRESS when he called him for this interview, shouldn’t he have been writing fast, he wondered? That's because Farhan is playing the character of the legendary Milkha Singh India’s middle-distance runner who had run a world record time of 45.8 seconds in the 400 metres in the upcoming film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (Run Milkha Run) produced and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
Farhan -A Versatile Genius
On the contrary the fact remain that Farhan knows very well how tough it is to be in Milkha Singh’s shoes. Farhan expresses that he think as far as the gravity of the role is concerned, this film has demanded the highest degree out of him and it’s definitely his most challenging role yet. Versatile Farhan known to have played the role of a director, screenwriter, producer, playback singer, lyricist at the same time television host. At the moment that’s a lot of roles to play in one lifetime, yet Akhtar expresses saying that he finds it a lot easier than running 400 metres in 45.8 seconds.
Farhan added that he is comfortable in anything he do for the big screen. He have also done challenging roles on the small screen, talk show host, been a judge but unless something interesting comes up, he won’t be taking up any TV assignments soon. The last time Akhtar was on TV was a few days ago when he was promoting this film on Indian Idol Junior in Mumbai. He will be in Dubai to do the same before its release on July 11. While Farhan was asked if the film has the possibility to gain success on the back of these promotions or on his star power and he expressed, when he began his journey beyond 10 years ago, there weren’t many satellite TVs at the same time the internet too was not so big. Presently, they are bombarded with so much information that the brain seems to be exhausted. In promoting their films, they intend to cut through the clutter at the same time connect to the audience. On the contrary it's a fact that only star power works once the film rocks the screen.
Farhan commenced his journey 12 years ago with his directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai. Farhan's directed movie was Don 2 in 2011 which makes it nearly two years away from the director’s chair. He has another acting stint coming up in Shadi Ke Side Effects, the shooting for which wraps up in August. Farhan expressed that he may return to directing subsequent to that due to reason that he have a lot of ideas which he will have time to think about carefully. Therefore, post-August, his time would be reserved to thinking as well as writing.
