Big B Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar teamed up for a dark thriller and the movie has been titled as Wazir. Bejoy Nambiar who directed movies like Shaitaan and David directed the movie. Talented filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra who produced many blockbusters in his career penned the script of the film years back and he wanted Bejoy Nambiar to direct the film. Wazir has been made on a budget of Rs 30 crores and Big B played a chess player who is restricted to wheelchair in the film. Farhan Akhtar played a suspended ATS officer in the movie.
Wazir released in over 2000 screens on January 9th and the film received critical acclaim from the critics and received mixed response from the audience. Wazir opened well and the movie fared well at premium plexes of metros. Sustaining on weekdays is crucial. Fri 5.61 cr, Sat 7.16 cr, Sun 8.24 cr. Wazir collected Rs 21.01 crores in three days at the domestic box-office. The movie managed to collect Rs 10.48 crores among the International circles all over.
