Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia in Dubai

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, one of India's most respected classical flautists, will be back to Dubai next week for a performance to celebrate world music.  The concert to be held at Ductac in Mall of the Emirates, on May 17, called Sangam (confluence, in Hindi), will feature Chaurasia on the flute, Gwyneth Wentink from Holland on the harp, percussionists Gino Banks, son of jazz composer Louis Banks, on the drums and Subhankar Banerjee on the tabla.

Legendary Chaurasia, 74, has performed in the UAE a number of times including once at a concert with Ian Anderson of British rock band Jethro Tull.

According to the organiser Vinod Raghavan of Tambourine Live, Sangam is a journey of diverse musical forms while each performed by maestros with their unique dynamics and rhythm.

Note: Tickets, Dh150, Dh200, Dh250 for stalls and Dh500 (VIP) will be available at the Ductac box office. Call 04-3414777.

That would genuinely be a musical delight for the music lovers around the world.
