The National Media Museum in Bradford of UK is hosting an exhibition of Bollywood paintings on the eve of celebrating the 100 years (centenary) of Indian cinema. To all those who are wondering when the first Hindi flick was released, Raj Harishchandra was the first India movie that was released in spring 1913.
As a part of the same, a script writing contest will be held by Bradford City of Film and Freedom Studios theatre company. The winner of this contest would receive as much as 1000 pounds. The mandatory thing once should keep in mind before taking part in the contest is that the script should be script with not extending 10 minutes and should not have characters more than three. It has to be mentioned here that cinema was introduced to India when Lumiere Brothers toured the world and held their first premier Raj Harishchandra in Mumbai.''
This film festival director Tom Vincent said that love for cinema is felt in India like no where else. Yes, it terms of making films, no country is as prolific as India and thanks to all those personalities such as Satyajit Ray, Shyam Benegal and Aparna Sen for making film enthusiasts across the globe to learn something from Indian cinema!
