Are you meeting a special someone for a first date? The first date can be exciting and stressful, especially if it happens to be with a special someone. Enjoy her company by all means but be careful as you may not get a second chance to make an impression again.

Here are some tips on what to avoid saying and doing on the first date.

Wear appropriate clothes

Wear clothes and accessories that you are confident in. You can wear formal clothes like you do for office, but not a uniform. T-shirts with offensive content are a strict NO, you don't want to embarass your date. Same rule applies for women.

Talking about the Ex.

The Ex is a total taboo, especially on a first date. Do not talk of your Ex under any circumstance or about anyone you might have slept with. Just in case your Ex walks into the same date venue and decides to sit next to you, it's ok to talk, but "do not acknowledge your Ex".

Appearing too keen

Men who seem too interested in the first date are not considered genuine. Avoid saying things like, 'I feel we're right for each other'. And do not talk about marriage or babies.

Getting drunk

Toasting the occassion is alright if it makes the two of you comfortable. But stay in your limits and stop much before you get drunk and start revealing all your secrets.

Choose what you eat sensibly

Stay away from food that has parsley as it sticks to your teeth and looks bad. The date may not mention about it to you out of politeness but it does not make a good impression.

Talking about sex

No talks about sex in your first date as it will surely turn-off your date. Talking about sex is not right unless the date is meant for sex only.

Bill payment

Don't expect her to pay the bill. Set an equal tone for the relationship by going Dutch on the bill. It always works. Most women appreciate it.
