Researchers have found that being on Yo-Yo diet can do more harm than good to your body, and even leave you weighing a few extra kilos.
Health experts believe that constricting calories in your daily diet will make you yearn for it even more. This is because the more you limit your calorie intake, the more your brain craves for foods like chocolate milkshakes, a study revealed.
Dr Eric Stice at the Oregon Research Institute in the US is carrying out an extensive research to find out why people lapse after diet. According to his findings, slashing calorie intake hikes up the reward value of aperitive high calorie food.
He said, "The more successful people are at caloric-restriction dieting, the greater difficulty they will face in maintaining the restriction."
Also, talking about the report, he implied, “If people want to lose excess weight, it would be more effective to consume healthy, low-fat/low-sugar foods during regular meals, rather than go for long periods of time without any caloric intake.”
