Bali has reopened temples, beaches, resorts, and other touristic spots for the domestic travelers and said it would open tourism for international travelers from September 11.

Scrapping the plan of opening the island from next month, Indonesian governor said that Bali would not allow foreign tourists till the end of 2020 owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

The holiday spot has however reopened the temples, beaches and other touristic spots to the domestic travelers since July and said it would open the island for international tourism in September earlier.

However, this plan has been canceled by the Indonesian authorities over concerns about the mounting coronavirus cases and with many foreign counties subjecting themselves to travel ban to and from their countries.

Indonesian capital Jakarta is also yet to reopen the tourism for foreign tourists.

Governor Wayan Koster said that Indonesia is not ina position to welcome foreign visitors to its island in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

He added that the central government will support the reopening of tourism in 2021 mainly in Bali but after observing that the respective authorities are taking proper care, precautions, prudence, and responsibility towards the safety of themselves and also the visitors.

The decision to welcome the foreign travelers must not be taken in a rush and requires careful observations as Indonesia is home for tourism and people across the world come to Indonesia for holidaying.

However, the government of Indonesia has not yet announced the next date of the reopening of tourism in Indonesia and Bali.

The volume of the flights operating in Indonesia has come down to a large extent during this pandemic and the island can be found with empty hotels and the restaurants struggling to survive.

Bali has till now recorded about 49 deaths and the number of coronavirus cases registered stands at 4000.

Nationwide, Indonesia has reported about 6,680 virus deaths with more than 153,000 cases registered in the island till now.

However, the real toll of the coronavirus in Indonesia seems to be hidden as the amount of testing being done in the island is limited.

Tourism contributes about 80 percent of the economy for Indonesia and this decision by the governor has come as a huge blow to the people who are earning with tourism in Indonesia.

The coronavirus impact and the travel restrictions have had a huge impact on the economy of Indonesia and as most of the people work in the hospitality department, most of them are left jobless now.
