Music composer Ilayaraja is planning to pay tribute to M.S. Viswanathan (MSV) by playing 30 popular songs set to tune by him in a concert at Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai on July 27.
Titled ‘Ennulle Ulla MSV,’ the concert is expected to feature musicians who worked with MSV. It is likely that few singers who have worked with MSV will be invited for the concert.
Indian music director and composer, M.S. Viswanathan passed away recently at the age of 87. Popularly known as M. S.V., the music director composed songs in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi for over 1200 films. MSV was even fondly referred to as ‘Mellisai Mannar’. He composed music for over 750 Tamil films.
Ilayaraja has worked with MSV early on in his career. It is said that Ilayaraja was deeply influenced by MSV’s music.
