The Islamic State (ISIS) has released all four Indians whom they have kidnapped on Wednesday. While Balram and Gopikrishna have been released today, two others were rescued earlier with the aid of Indian External Affairs Ministry. Balram and Gopikrishna were in custody even after Lakshmikant and Vijay Kumar were let free.
Sushma Swaraj tweeted about their release as saying that: “Four Indians abducted in Libya - I am happy we have been able to secure the release of Lakshmikant and Vijay Kumar. Trying for other two.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the four Indian teacher were kidnapped at a checkpoint, which is around 50 km outside the Sirte town, which is currently under the Islamic State control. The incident happened when the men were on their way back to India. Two of them belong to Hyderabad, while one was in Raichur and the other one was from Bengaluru.
