The news of Imagine TV shutting down came as a big shock to many television artistes associated with that channel. It was not just a matter of passion on appearing the screen, but the soaps that engaged a large number of housewives in the country, were actually bread and butter to many artistes. There are, in fact, so many people who were still busy shooting programmes  when the news broke. In fact, programmes such as Rakhi ka Swayamwar, Zor ka Jhatka, Raaz Pichcle Janam Ka went off the air and people were reportedly angry over the same.

"I got to know after the statement was released Thursday by Turner, around 1.30 p.m. when we were shooting for the show. The entire team has been working very hard, so the news was very shocking for all of us,"  actor Ankur said. Another actor Vidhi said: "The news of the channel shutting down was a big time shock. Who will expect something like this when you are happily shooting for your show? 'Jamuna Paar' is life for me. The shoot stopped yesterday, but I hope the channel starts again and we are back to work. It is very unfortunate and I feel sad. There were so many cute and interesting things lined up for the viewers," she said.

It may be noted that Turner Broadcasting System—that operates HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network and POGO in India—announced that it was shutting down Imagine TV due to poor target rating points (TRPs).
