Amidst the world fighting a constant battle with the novel coronavirus, people can witness the breathtaking super pink moon from their homes on April 07, 2020.
This supermoon will be visible in India from the evening and is going to be larger than the standard full moon that is witnessed. The same is going to be visible completely in the morning of April 08 at around 8 am.
The moon is going to be visible on the eastern side from where it will rise, so if you have an east facing window, that is possibly the best way to witness the super pink moon.
It is going to be the biggest and the brightest moon of the year of 2020. The reason why it is called the pink moon is because the full moon in April is named after a flower, in this case, the same is named after the wildflower, pink moss which is native to the eastern North America and hence the name.
This full moon is going to be at perigee-syzygy, meaning that it will be the closest to the Earth. The Earth, Moon and the Sun will look brighter than usual.
Jackie Faherty, an astronomer at the American Museum of Natural History here in New York City stated saying that it is going to be bright, beautiful and extremely breathtaking.
Faherty also mentioned that this moon will be visible all night long as it rises but the beauty of it is going to be optimal during the moonrise time. The same is because of an optical illusion making it look larger than normal as it rises above the horizon.
With the majority of the world self isolating at this time, this is the perfect opportunity for the people to witness this beautiful super pink moon with the kids at home.
