Trump Has Continued with Obama’s Indian Policy, Says Raja Krishnamoorthi

President Trump has continued with the Indian Policy of his predecessor Barack Obama and the support for the Indo-US relationship transforms political parties here, said an influential Indian-American lawmaker.
“I think his Indian policy has so far been somewhat of a continuation of what president Barack Obama did and, before President Obama, what bush has done,” Democratic Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, a voice critic of the foreign policy of trump has said.
The continuity shown by trump on the Indo-US relationship was a good thing, he said that US administration sees India as an important counterweight to influence china in the region.
Krishna moorthi who has just returned from a short trip to India, during his stay he has meet he had meet Narendra Modi said, “I think that whatever we can do in the US congress and here in America to basically, as I said, make sure that Asia remains a stable and economically prosperous place. We have to do that”.
US-India relationship is a special partnership, so we have to do everything we can to enhance this partnership and to make sure that the great progress that we’ve already seen continues and that it remains mutually beneficial to both the countries . I personally believe that it will continue to do so”, he said.
Krishna moorthi had a wide ranging talk with the prime minister, he said that it was a formal meeting where he has talked about strengthening of relationship between the US and India to the fact that it transcends political parties at this point, on both sides.
New-Delhi born Krishnamoorthi was sworn in as member of US house of representatives.
“I think both Republic and Democratic administration have now successfully continued to build the relationship across a range of sectors”, he said.
He said the he mentioned to prime minister that the relationship is broadening, deepening and growing across a new area and just as India is keen to attract US investment, we in US are also keen to attract Indian investment, especially in his own fine Congressional district in the Chicago area.
He said that the latest GST reforms would help American companies in big way, and it will help US to export more goods to India.
“A simplified tax system is really the best way to go” said Krishnamoorthi.
