Blue India hopes to create the 'dining experience your senses will yearn for.' After nearly three years of sitting vacant, the space which was formerly occupied by the Aurum in Metropolis, an ultra-nightclub which was laced in all-things gold could soon be transformed into Blue India, an "upscale" Indian restaurant.
Blue India owner Jiggar Ricky Patel on Monday filed plans with the City of Atlanta to buildout 3,379-square-foot restaurant, at the 915 Peachtree Street NE, in the condominium high-rise.
Patel in an email on Monday told to What Now Atlanta that, Blue India was influenced by my childhood visits to my father’s fine-dining Indian restaurant in a quiet suburb of the London, England.
"My memories are filled with extravagant looking cocktails, elegantly dressed patrons, and wall art covered in photographs of iconic Indian monuments..."
Viraat an Indian Naval Ship no more
Scheduled to debut in the mid-May, 2017.The Blue India, an upscali Indian restaurant would have a copper-plated "Tandoor station" on the display from dining room and also an intimate dining experience with the 1940’s British-Indian backdrop.
Patel also said that, he believe the interpretation of the Indian food in London is as valid as the way Italian food is in New York. This is exactly what the Atlanta is missing and this is what I want to recreate in the Midtown Atlanta, an upscale Indian dining experience your senses will yearn for.
An estimate of $150,000 could be spent altering the once glitzy Aurum into the Blue India including a new kitchen, fixtures, and also equipment, among the other upgrades.
In addition to Blue India, the shops at Metropilis are 100 percent leased, as per the latest marketing materials for the center.
