He is one in 197 million!

Little Eli McGlarthy is a baby who was born with a rare facial abnormality is considered as miracle by doctors. Eli is born without a nose and doctors have termed this anomaly as complete ‘congenital arhinia’. It is an extremely rare condition with only 37 known cases till date.

Brandi McGlathery and Troy Thompson are parents of this baby.

When the baby was born Brandi was confused by seeing him and said 'Something's wrong!’.

The doctor replied, 'No. He's perfectly fine.’

‘Then I shouted, 'He doesn't have a nose!' said Brandi.

The baby began breathing immediately through his mouth.

"He had the most apologetic look," she told.

Doctors administered tracheotomy to ease the breathing of little Eli.

Apart from breathing, Eli has other complications. He has no sinus cavities due to which he lacks the smelling ability. His brain is small and the palates have not been formed completely.
