What would you call a woman who rises back to life 13 days after her funeral — a lady Jesus?
Well, in a hair-raising incident reported in the US, a 50-year-old woman was found alive 13 days after her cremation.
The odd saga kicked off earlier this year after Sharolyn Jackson went missing from her West Philadelphia home. Authorities discovered a dead body matching her description, and two acquaintances, including her son, identified the woman as Jackson.
As per her obituary in The Times of Trenton, Jackson "died" on July 20 and the family held a burial Aug. 3. A family friend comforted the family through an online guestbook, "Only God has the final call."
Well, if that's the case, then God truly turned out to be a prankster. Just last Friday, Jackson was discovered alive at a mental asylum. The revelation came as a shocker for the family since her son had identified the dead body as hers.
"The gold standard here [for identifying a body] is visual identification by a family member," so the son's identification was taken as fact, Philadelphia Health Department spokesman James Garrow told The Huffington Post.
While the family is out of its mourning now, the big mystery however is: Who is the woman actually buried under Jackson's tombstone?
"Right now we're working internally with the city law department to see about exhuming the body, and we're working with the police department to see if we can identify who this woman is," Garrow said.
Apparently, this isn't the first time a dead person has shocked day-light out of his/her loved ones by showing up alive. Gilberto Araújo, a Brazilian man, was mistakenly declared dead last year. He brought an unexpected plot twist to his own wake when he walked in exclaiming, "Guys, I'm alive -- pinch me!"
