Actor-comedian Eddie Murphy has been confirmed for the 2015 Mark Twain Prize for American comedy by the officials and 54-year- popular actor will receive the top prize for performing arts by John F Kennedy Center this year on October 18. The presentation ceremony would be broadcasted nationally.
The "Dr Dolittle" actor impressed the viewers and audiences with his performance in 'Saturday Night Live', and in others. Following the award announcement, Eddie said in a written statement, "I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from the Kennedy Center and to join the distinguished list of past recipients of this award."
Mark Twain prize was conferred on Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg and Bill Cosby and others in the past.
