The 'Ocean Eleven' star, who is currently in Venice, seems to be in troubled waters now!

Apparently, George Clooney, who is reportedly in Venice along with his “Gravity” star Sandra Bullock to attend the film festival and promote his upcoming next, found himself on the wrong side of the law recently.

The actor was allegedly detained by Venice police for operating a water taxi without proper license.

The actor was recently photographed by paparazzi driving a speedboat on the Venice Lagoon. But while the charming actor waved and smiled for the cameras, local lawyer Mario D'Elia reported authorities, concerned if Clooney had nautical license and proper permit to drive the boat.

Earlier this week, during a VFF press conference, Clooney bantered about piloting the boat and claimed that this was the  most dangerous thing he had ever tried.

But the authorities aren't taking the matter lightly, not after a collision in the Grand Canal earlier this month between a water ferry and a gondola that killed a German tourist.
