US and British-based big bike manufacturers Harley Davidson and Triumph are making significant changes to compete with Royal Enfield, that is to completely overtake the Indian luxury bike market.
Harley Davidson and Triumph have surprised the world markets by announcing their affordable bikes globally. To reach the domestic market they are launching the bikes of price less than Rs 2,33,000/- ($2841). The price will show the major effect on Royal Enfield's market dominance. Royal Enfield was literally enjoying the monopoly in the high-end motorcycle market segment between luxury bikes and economy bikes.
Harley Davidson is launching X440 and Triump is launching Speed 400. These will be competitors to the Royal Enfield 250 cc segment. The strong fan base of Royal Enfield will now have a shift to luxury bike brands.
Indian market has huge spending capacity now a days . Harley and Triumph thought of the best time and making their premium segment into affordable. Triumph Speed 400 has received 14,000 orders, which surpassed their total 10 years of sale. With more finance options and an affordable budget these two luxury brands planning to be rule mid-segment bikes market.
