Revolutionizing policing in Mumbai!

While being exciting and holding the curiosity, the Mumbai police might soon be taking it into focus on fancy motorbikes similar to the ones we see in Hollywood flicks for which Gabriel Zuzarte should be thanked for the efforts he had to undergo as a bike designer and the founder of Road Rage Custom Builds, the city police’s patrolling bikes will soon be replaced with high-end, tech-loaded vehicles on par with bikes abroad. Equipped with advanced gadgets, these bikes will help police manage law and order more efficiently.

Furthermore, Gabriel was inspired to create something like this after he came across motorcycles used by the FBI in America and cops in other developed countries wherein he says that he was very keen on introducing something like that for our police force, and she had the know-how and the manpower. Gradually then he approached senior police officers, ministers and several experts, and after two years of crusading for the project, the motor vehicles department (RTO) finally gave him the green signal. Gabriel said that the bike will be iconic and will be equipped with the most advanced gadgets and technology, which will enable cops to manage law and order situations more efficiently.

High-end superbikes

The bike, a 350cc Royal Enfield Classic, will be equipped with all-weather cameras at the front and the rear to help cops capture evidence on the spot. Apart from this, it will also have a real-time GPS system to help officers reach a spot on time while it will also boast of an all-weather laptop and printer that will help cops to fine offenders and keep a track record of the same. Gabriel furthered that this also means no written chalan and the amount will automatically pop up on the screen and the receipt will be dispensed from the printer. The bikes, which can also be used as official escort bikes, will also have storage boxes for first aid, gear to cordon off crime scenes, tents and forensic tools. Apart from bright LED flicker lights, custom made seats, it will also have extra batteries for gadgets and protective gear for the riders. This innovation will definitely revolutionalise policing in the city. Once the bike is ready, they will be training officers on how to use the features.

As a special mention the first superbike will be launched by August 2013. At the moment, there are no sponsors to fund the bike. Nevertheless, once he launch his first bike, he is hoping that the state government will sponsor funds to make more such bikes, added Gabriel. On the other hand, Atul Patil, DCP, Transport expressed that the concept is innovative and that Gabriel had approached them with the concept a year ago. Except under the circumstances that the prototype of the bike is put to use with the patrolling team, they cannot predict how useful and practical the innovation is therefore they really have to wait until the first bike is launched to see how the innovation gets justified on the Indian roads.

That sounds fantabulous as far as the advancement in security is concerned but the innovation is yet to be justified on the road soon!
