Nepometer is a platform in which all the movies of the Hindi Film Industry and also the Indian TV shows will be rated. This is not going to be like any other review platform, in this particular platform the reviews and ratings will be based on the cast and crew members involved in the making of the movie or show. The ratings will be giving seeing if the cast and crew involved is an independent artist or have connection to film families in any other way.
Is this step a good one or is it just adding fuel to the fire, there’s no evidence about either of those. Thought the platform is still underdeveloped its social media pages are very engaging. It already has over 1000 followers and is promoting hash tags like #boycottbollywoodnepotism#fightnepotism.
Nepometer’s social media page says that they are going to fight nepotism by data driven information and will rate the movies and TV Shows based on how nepotistic or independent the movie crew and film making process is. They have 3 levels of rating like red, Orange and Green. When the nepotism products I the movie are the highest it will rate red, when the nepotism products in the movie are about 70% it will be orange and if the nepotism products in the movie are below 50% the nepometer will show green.
The first movie which got rated on the platform is Sadak-2. The movie got rated on Thursday, 2nd of July as Red because the Nepometer showed 98% of Nepotism related cast and crew.
