Analysis :

To be frank, this is not an Anurag Kashyap movie, but certainly takes you to Bombay city in1960s with Amit Trivedi’s beautiful background score and brilliant editing from Thelma Schoonmaker. The plot of the movie was good, it really impressed in the first half. During the second half it went loosely and clarity just sidelined.

The Gyan Prakash’s ‘Mumbai Fables’ novel added spicy on screen. Technical aspects of the movie are well balanced, but Rajeev Ravi’s cinematography makes the difference.

Performance :

Ranbir Kapoor as Johny Balraj was perfect, we may not imagine this kind of hard and different role, Anushka and Ranbir’s chemistry is an asset of the movie. Anushka has shown her mark, especially for the song ‘Ye kya kiya Sylvia’ and her background narration was excellent.

Karan Johar has impressed with his commendable performance. Other characters also did a good job.

Final Word:
You can watch it for a difference.
