The Shaukeens is a remake of the 1982 cult-classic comedy film "Shaukeen". The latest film, much like the original movie, tells the story of three lecherous old men who want to spice up their old age,the three men played by Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Anupam Kher - head to Mauritius go to Goa for some 'fun'.
Director Abhishek Sharma has done good job to maintain the old shaukeens script in new form of entertainment .The three lecherous old men entertained in full fledged manner, but akshay kumar entry to the entertainment was little upstage which takes out all the fun. Akshay plays himself in the film and easily manages to poke fun at his self. The lead actor lisa hayden has give light to the screen with awesome performance.
Analysis :
Instead of checking in at a hotel,KD rents a house owned by Ahana (Lisa Haydon) Who is has character of liking and fond of three things – Akshay Kumar, fashion designing and Facebook likes.
When Ahana come to know that the akshay Kumar film is shot in Mauritius Ahana says she would do anything to meet the star. The three oldies tkae the meaning in diffrent way and tries to arrange the meeting between two.
Performance :
Kher, Kapoor and Mishra three of them make emotional anguish their tasteless intentions, but they will melt your heart with their honest performance. Akshay role is some what like cameo role joins the story,Ahana (lisa )will be in entire story over the screen.
Screenplay could have been more stretched on the central characters of the movie And of all the cast and crew, looks like cinematographer Amalendu Chaudhary had the best time of his life shooting the film. Zooming in and out of Haydon's perfectly toned bikini-clad body must have been a visual effect.
As a director failed to show his best job sense of humour, were he have worked more, the comedy is quite common which was meant for only one section of the audience, but full votes for him which says men shouldn't commodify women.
Alcoholic" and "Manali Trance" is at top,Yo Yo Honey Singh music is lagging some were, the title song is of bad taste mish-mash.
Final Word: The Shaukeens story should have been more laughing riots, but it took to a boring journey.
