Heropanti review

Story :

Heropanti is set in Jatland where Renu (Sandeepa Dhar), the elder daughter of the local don Chaudhary (Prakash Raj), is set to be married in a pompous ceremony. But on her wedding night Renu elopes with Rakesh (her boyfriend). This leads to a wild search for the couple and Rakesh's friends are picked up by the goons.

Bablu (Tiger) is helping Rakesh and Renu and gets captured by the goons after massive search. While in captivity, Tiger reveals to tells his friends that he's in love with Chaudhury’s younger daughter Dimpy (Kriti Sanon).

Dimpy and Tiger’s love story ends in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' style.

Analysis :

Heropanti

Heropanti hardly has a script that can be analysed. It seems the makers of this film relied totally on Kriti’s looks to create a love story. And they shamelessly relied on Tiger’s karate experience for the actions in the film. If you remove these two element, you have an actor who just can't act in a story that seems pointless. The goons capture the boyfriend’s best friends and try to squeeze information from them. But fail, so the boys are kept in custody in their own homes (what?).

The film talks about Jatland that has zero respect for women and treats them like cattle. However, the script fails to convince its message. Chaudhary is shown as a hapless father in one of the shots and drinks himself into a melancholic haze, grieving over his daughter’s condition. The same man is shown to be ok with shooting her dead. The man's character doesn’t quite add up.

Performance :

Heropanti-review

Heropanti is out and out a bad film and the performance of its lead actors as well as its villian is poor.

Tiger Shroff has no acting skills to talk of and he also lacks his father’s better qualities. But, his actions are good. So he might shine in a Bollywood action film with no dialogues. For now his dialogue delivery is poor and there is nothing memorable about him in his own debut film.

Kriti Sanon has the spark and needs to brush up on her acting skills. The girl has star qualities and could be promising, given an opportunity in the right film.

Prakash Raj has worsted himself in his performance, even worse than 'Rajjo'.

Final Word:There is no valid reason to watch this film. Sheer time waste.
