Putting an end to all speculations, Yash Raj Films has confirmed Anushka Sharma opposite superstar Salman Khan for its forth coming project “Sultan”. Interestingly, the news comes after the movie was announced nearly a year before. Names of actresses who were part of the guess work for the lead role are Kangana Ranaut, Kriti Sanon, Deepika Padukone and Parineeti Chopa.
Anushka’s name was also a part of the rumor few months back, which was denied by her. But now, YRF’s casting director Shanoo Sharma made the announcement in twitter that the “Bombay Velvet” star has been agreed for the wrestling drama.
Sharma posted, “#Sultan @AnushkaSharma onboard!!”. The actress was even welcomed on board by the official Twitter page of “Sultan” also welcomed the actor on board.
“Meet Sultan’s Leading Lady! #SultanLeadingLady,” read the tweet. A picture of Salman (50) and Anushka (27) accompanied the post.
Even Anushka tweeted about it posting the same picture and captioning it as “Sultan”.
Sultan, Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar is a sports drama, scheduled to hit box office the coming Eid, in clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s “Raees”. Salman will be playing a Haryana-based wrestler Sultan Ali Khan in the film. Earlier in an interview, the actor said that it is a romantic film.
